The Tiny Habit Swap That’s Saving My Sanity

Let me be honest with you.

I love a good series. The drama, the accents, the escape — everything.
But somewhere between “just one more episode” and “chai, it’s 1:47am,” I realised something was off.

I wasn’t resting. I was just numbing.

So one day, I said, “Girl, let’s try something different.”
(Not drastic, I didn’t delete my Movie Box app o. I just adjusted.)

Instead of letting movies and Instagram soak up my whole evening, I replaced a small part of that time with things that actually filled me:

  • A 10-minute walk with my thoughts (and greeting my neighbours left and right)
  • Journaling whatever was on my mind — even if it was “I’m tired abeg”
  • Stretching (yes, the Yoruba aunty in me was shocked too)
  • Writing for fun, no pressure… (currently writing a romance novel. anticipate!)
  • Calling that one friend who always lifts my mood

Some things flopped. Others stuck. But here’s the truth:

This simple habit swap helped me feel human again.

Less frazzled. More present. More me.

And that’s the vibe I want for every Nigerian girl trying to juggle life, career, family, ice-cream and shawarma cravings, and maybe a little healing.

It’s not about becoming a productivity queen overnight.
It’s about finding your rhythm.

Replace a little screen time with something soulful.
Start small. Adjust. Repeat.

Soon, you’ll start going to bed with a calm mind and a smiling heart, and maybe even wake up without cursing your alarm.

So if you’re feeling overwhelmed lately, try a tiny swap.
Not because the world said so, but because you deserve ease too.

And hey, if you try it — DM me. We’ll gist.
